BPMN Stencil for VISIO

Here is a link to one of the best pages if you too are looking for a BPMN stencil.

http://www.workflow-research.de/Downloads/BPMN/

By far the best one out there seems to be this one..
http://www.workflow-research.de/Downloads/BPMN/Frapu-BPMN_Template(v1.1).zip

I just tried out .. it seems to work with Visio 2007 as well. Though it still looks rather clumsy. But you can take it as a start point and apply styles and other changes to suit your needs.

There are so many others if you search but most have some problems. See this one for example..
http://www.bpmn.org/documents.htm
http://www.bpmn.org/Documents/BPMN%200-9-V2003.vss
I thought coming from bpmn.org this one should be the best. But the different stereotypes for gateways seem to be missing. (OR, XOR, AND)

If you find something better, let me know..

Edit 1

Hey ..
I think I have found a better one..
Go here http://sourceforge.net/projects/bpmnpop/
n download the plugin..BPMN_for_VISIO 0.6

I found the stencil good. There are some macros in the .vst file (template). If you are not sure, just extract the stencil and use it (file named BPMN.vss in the zip file)

CCOR

The CCOR stands for Customer Chain Operations Reference Model. This is on the lines of the well known SCOR (supply chain operations reference model) by the supply chain council.

CCOR has been pioneered by HP (a scc member). It stemed out of the lack of coverage of sales and service functions in the SCOR model.

It stands as
Plan >> Relate >> Sell >> Contract >> Assist

It has been really difficult to get material on CCOR in the public domain. I would like to document whatever material i come across in my search to understand CCOR. Hopefully it cuts short someone else's search.

How to make your supply chain more valuable

Edit 1:

Provision a BPA/BPM tool from Metastorm claims to have included CCOR model to help organizations model these processes faster.

Developing and using KPIs

I found that this article really makes sense. NIce way to approach KPIs

http://www.waymark.co.nz/Articles/ARTICLEDevelopingAndUsingKPIs.htm

Though I would not really agree on two things. His first example of how BA did a turnaround focussing on a single KPI.

Second, a KPI needs to be monitored 24x7

SOme KPIs dont make sense to be monitored 24x7. Yet they are KPIs nonetheless. It depends on how long a business process takes to get executed and the frequency of occurence of events that are measured.

He puts in charachteristics of a good KPI as

·
Measured frequently e.g. daily or 24/7 (KPIs are not measured monthly)
·
Acted upon by the CEO and the senior management team on a daily or 24/7 basis
·
All staff understand the measure and what corrective action is required
·
Responsibility can be tied down to the individual or team
·
The KPI has a significant impact on the organisation e.g. it impacts most of the core critical success factors and balanced scorecard perspectives
·
Positive movement affects all other performance measures in a positive way

WEll reminds of another article mirrored in too many places on the web.. Just google - charachteristics of a good KPI.. I am referring to this one.
